The mission of the Illinois Career and Technical Education Innovative Curriculum Resources Project headed by Illinois State University and funded by the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Improvement Act of 2006, is to facilitate and coordinate Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs in public, secondary schools in Illinois related to (a) Business, Marketing, and Computer Education, (b) Family and Consumer Sciences, (c) Health Sciences Technology, and (d) Technology and Engineering Education. To fulfill the mission of the project, the Illinois Career and Technical Education Innovative Curriculum Resources Project personnel will focus on providing current, relevant, and innovative professional development, technical assistance, and resources to secondary CTE teachers and programs. Additionally, resources will be developed for career counselors to assist students with career exploration and preparation, as well as development of individual career plans for CTE students. To specifically fulfill the mission of the project, the Illinois Career and Technical Education Innovative Curriculum Resources Project personnel will (a) provide state-wide coordination of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, career awareness and development initiatives through the creation and dissemination of on-line activities and lesson plans relating to career exploration, career decision making, and career guidance; (b) assist in bridging the gap between employers and the educational field by researching strategies to improve communication and collaborative efforts within and between EFE Directors, CTE teachers, career counselors, post-secondary institutions, and workforce advisory boards; (c) provide innovative, research-based, curricular resources through various activities and evaluative techniques; and (d) undertake a process to review existing CTE curriculum materials, help in the dissemination of curriculum materials, provide professional development based, and develop ancillary materials to help support the curriculum materials for Illinois CTE professionals, institutions, and workforce advisory boards.

Classroom Supplies – Next to Nothing Charges
Our goal is to help as many teachers as we can!
I have a unique resource for teachers that I would like to share. It’s a nonprofit organization called NAEIR that provides new classroom supplies for “next to nothing” charges. NAEIR is a great nonprofit organization for teachers that want to stretch their classroom supplies budget or reduce the amount that they spend out-of-pocket.  
The program NAEIR sponsor’s is called the Teacher’s Program. MEMBERSHIP IN THE PROGRAM IS FREE. There are over 100,000 active Teacher’s Program members.
