2019 Summer Coding/Programming Boot Camps Overview

Boot Camp Content is application based using HTML 5, CSS, Javascript, and developing a mobile app for the beginning boot camps. The curriculum used in the beginning boot camp will be made available to all participants to use in developing participants' future high school courses. Participants with little knowledge of coding and programming are encouraged to join this boot camp!

Provide accelerated instruction in software development for in-service business teachers. Instruction will be offered in 2 three-day blocks. The Beginning Boot Camps will have no prerequisites and will take teachers to basic web applications that can also be re-purposed as multi-platform phone and tablet apps.
The boot camps will be highly interactive with instruction followed by hands-on development time. We will use open-source and free materials throughout. Lab computers may be available, but any laptop computer (Mac, Windows, Chromebook) will be sufficient. (Tablets may work if they have a keyboard.)
Wherever practical and possible, topics in the courses will be tied to relevant standards so teachers will be able to easily reinforce state and national standards for computing, programming, and application development.
