During the summer of 2006, in
conjunction with the Curriculum Revitalization Initiative (CRI), the Health
Science Technology Task Force conducted a Summer Training and Development
Institute. The Week-Long Summer Session was held at the Illinois Office of
Educational Services on the Lincoln Land Community College Campus during the
week of June 12-19, 2006. Teacher-Writers gathered to write Health Science
Technology Lessons, which will be available on CD by the end of the year.
Lessons will also be available on a CRI Website. Since no state-wide
curriculum revitalization initiative has occurred since the 1980's, the
Illinois State Board of Education has endorsed this new initiative.
Additional lessons will be written in up-coming Teacher-Writer Institutes to
be announced. Teacher-Writers will receive CPDU's, and will be reimbursed
for their time. Anyone teaching health and/or science courses is welcome to
apply. Contact: Linda Cozzolino |
