Family and Consumer Sciences DACUM

On November 15, 2006, a panel of experts met at the Springfield Offices of the Illinois Office of Educational Services to conduct a DACUM session for the Family and Consumer Sciences Component of the Curriculum Revitalization Initiative. Five experts from both education and industry worked together to produce a task set for Family and Consumer Sciences orientation.

In February 2007, the FCS DACUM was validated by twelve business and industry leaders which included representatives from the areas of Child Development, Cosmetology, and Interior Design. The information generated by this committee will be used as a basis for the Teaching Steering Committee to suggest lesson topics.
