The Illinois Drafting Educators' Association has appreciated your support in the past by participating in the IDEA regional drafting competition. This is a time-consuming task that could not be possible without your help. Again, we are calling on you and your students to participate in the 32nd IDEA Regional Drafting/CAD Competition that will be held on Friday, March 6th, 2009, at your Local Community College. NOTE: In case of inclement weather, Friday, March 13th, is reserved as a make-up date. First and second place regional winners will be eligible to compete at our state competition to be held on Saturday, April 18th, 2009, at ISU in Normal, Illinois. Last year 111 teachers and 1136 students were involved at the regional level. At the State Competition 72 teachers and 207 students were involved.

The Future of Manufacturing:
Connecting the Future of Manufacturing with the Curriculum Revitalization and Problem-Based Learning
March 25, 2009
The presentation will showcase the latest innovations in manufacturing using a critical- thinking module. Participants will learn how to access the new Illinois Curriculum Project on-line lesson library to teach a manufacturing lesson, using Problem-Based Learning. Take home materials will include a Lesson CD in addition to the usual PBL and CRP materials.
2 Sessions:
Session 1-Beginning at 10:15 a.m. Ending at: 11:15 a.m.
Session 2- Beginning at 11:30 a.m. Ending at 12:30 p.m.
