Diane Mahinda, Facilitator, Business, Marketing and Management, for the Career and Technical Education Curriculum Revitalization Initiative (CRI) will conduct a project-specific presentation for Secondary instructors at the Peoria High School Room 311, 1615 N. North Street in Peoria, IL.

Attendees will discover CTE curriculum resources aligned to the Illinois Learning Standards available through the www.ilcte.org web site and the Curriculum Revitalization Initiative. They will experience hands-on activities by custom making course outlines using the curriculum. Participants will receive a CD with 217 lesson plans as well as a username and login to fully access the resources available at www.ilcte.org!

Dr. Robert Hotes, Facilitator, Technology & Engineering Education for the Career and Technical Education Curriculum Revitalization Initiative (CRI) and Steve Parrot, Consultant, Technology and Engineering Education for the Illinois State Board of Education, will conduct a project-specific presentation for Secondary instructors at the Technology Center of Dupage, rooms C & D, in Addison, IL.
 
Participants will be exposed to the Curriculum Revitalization Initiative for CTE and its resources. In addition, participants will be given the opportunity to navigate through the Lesson Plan Library through hands-on activities.

The Illinois State Board of Education's Career Development and Preparation Division, in conjunction with its Curriculum Revitalization project, is holding a meeting in which to conduct a focus group interview to determine the skills and knowledge required in the area of Family and Consumer Sciences Education on Monday, December 10, 2007 at the Rogy Corporate Office in East Peoria, IL.
 
The goal is to describe the academic areas of challenge where secondary students, post-secondary students, and pre-employment people need improvement prior to entering their next stage of either education and/or employment. This information will be used in developing a curriulum in Family and Consumer Sciences Education addressing those challenges which will align with the Illinois Learning Standards as well as be applied in career training.

A Curriculum Revitalization Initiative (CRI) Orientation Workshop is being offered at the Belleville West High School on December 17, 2007in Belleville, IL.
